Grand Master Seminar 2013

KSW Sudbury was delighted to welcome World Kuk Sool Association (WKSA) Grand Master, Kuk Sa Nim to the school for a Seminar on the 19th November. He was accompanied by Masters Barry Harmon (9th Dahn), Sung Jin Suh (8th Dahn), Alex Suh (7th Dahn), John Ives (7th Dahn) and Nick Reeve (5th Dahn).

Twenty five students attended three hours of intense training in sparring techniques, advanced kicking, sword sparring and forms. All the students put in maximum effort and each got a lot out of the event, in particular new skills and insight into how to elevate their forms to art, martial art. Each received a Seminar Certificate and Kuk Sool DVD from the Grand Master at the end of the night and were able to have individual photographs taken with him. Some of the Little Dragons even got their belts signed by him!

Next week 10 year old DBN Maxi Webster-Coles will travel to Liverpool to undertake his first National Testing in front of the Grand Master for Black Belt at the UK Tournament. Maxi has been training at the Sudbury School since joining as a Little Dragon. “His dedication and enthusiasm has stayed at an impressively high level throughout all this time, he’s exactly what martial arts is all about” says PSBN Karen.

The School was joined at the Seminar by Mrs Jacqui Howells, Deputy Town Clerk, Sudbury Town Council. Jacqui presented four top quality ‘T-Sport’ sparring kits after the School was awarded £250 from the Most Active Town Award. The kits will allow sparring sessions to run much more effectively and will ensure the safety of students.

KSW Sudbury train at the Kingfisher Leisure Centre on Sundays from 16.30-19.30, for more information see http://www.kuksool.co.uk or call Karen on 07751 932 408. As a Christmas Special Offer, the first 4 classes are free and new beginners are most welcome.
